Willa spent most of Saturday napping on and off throughout the day. The only thing on the schedule was a trip to Chapel Hill Pediatrics for our initial appointment after discharge. Nothing much happened at the appointment. We spent most of the time going over everything we learned at the hospital and what the future plans are for the repair of the omphalocele. It will be more difficult to get an accurate weight of Willa outside of the hospital because of the dressing on the om. The one thing we can do is try to make it as consistent as possible with each doctor visit - turtle shell off, dressing on and diaper on.
After the appointment we made a quick trip to Buy Buy Baby to purchase a few more items off our registry. The weather is back in the mid-70's and we want to take a spin around the neighborhood with the stroller. It is time to get Willa used to sunlight after being in the NICU for two weeks and mom wants to get some exercise.
The never ending laundry has started. We went through a few outfits and blankets on Saturday. Newborn poop has some amazing distance ability. Daren seems to think I bring out this Olympic level pooping. I'm sure my older sister would agree since she has made the same comment for as long as I can remember. I think the outfit in the video posted below lasted about three hours before we had a mishap. Also, we can only dress her in onsies that are all buttons or zippers. Anything that has to go over her head doesn't work.
Daren shot a quick video of Willa sleeping in the pack-n-play. Not much excitement but I'm sure the Grandmas will enjoy. You can hear the classical music in the background. As much as Daren pushes the classical I will push Dave Matthews.
